The Global Express Association, representing the four largest integrated express carriers, DHL, FedEx, TNT and UPS, today praised the conclusion of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
The agreement includes a series of commitments by members to streamline and modernize their border clearance operations, create a more certain environment for foreign investment, and ensure fair competition in their markets.
The completion of this major agreement covering nearly half of the global marketplace is a significant achievement that will accelerate the flow of goods through supply chains and create a more competitive business environment in a region with the world’s fastest growing economies.
The express industry looks forward to ratification of the agreement after the necessary review process, so it can enter into force promptly. It also looks forward to working with TPP members as they take the necessary steps to implement the wide-ranging commitments and ensure the high standards promised in the agreement are realized.
